Class Description: 🎹 Play-full Piano Level 2
Let’s get all keyed up!
Children continue their musical journey in Level Two, building on foundational skills at the keyboard and dulcimer. Students learn to read music notation, explore music theory, and play a variety of instruments, including keyboard, 2-string folk instruments, and percussion.
🎵 What we inspire in students:
Strengthen piano and dulcimer technique
Learn to strum, chord, and play a variety of instruments
Develop music theory, notation reading, and rhythm skills
Participate in small group ensembles and collaborative music-making
Sing, move, and express music with growing creativity and confidence
This semester focuses on Appalachian, African-American, and Native American music, including drumming alongside piano skill. Students also engage in problem-solving and literacy-building activities. A piano folder with at-home activities, games, and sheet music is included for family play.
*There is a piano 2 folder with at-home activities, games and sheet music to play with as a family. Practice tutorial videos are emailed weekly. Class limited to 4-5 students.
